fear my pleasure is an abstract sculptural work that explores notions of submission/dominance, constriction/expulsion, and stricture/agency through made objects and plaster forms. It aims to physicalise societal and personal tension around the exploration of sexuality and identity. Ultimately, this work seeks to bring pleasure to individuals who have been denied it or taught to deprive themselves of it for the benefit of others.
exhibition text
“We are moving to a new space, starting a new chapter!
FELTspace will be relocating to a larger space that allows us to expand programming, develop projects, support more artists and increase accessibility.
Our Compton Street space is close to our hearts, and we know it holds a special place for many of you too. Leaving it behind is not easy, but change is a part of every journey. As FELTspace continues to grow, we believe this move will strengthen our ability to support artists. We will be carrying out the rest of this year's programming at Compton Street.
Our new home will be at 266 Angas Street, where we are currently preparing the space for next year’s exhibitions and programs (We will need help so keep an eye out for volunteer working bee call outs).
We are excited for what lies ahead and are eager to carry on the legacy of FELTspace in a new home. We will continue to amplify the voices of artists in a world where their voices are more important than ever.
A big thank you to Creative Australia and Create SA for making this move possible.”
